Being an attorney and a CPA, I considered myself a successful person in both my business and personal life, and I was not interested in attending Basic. Thanks to the persistence of my wife, who is a well-grounded individual, a practicing attorney, and an MBA, we attended Basic together. I had attended Basic in August 2005 and knew I had been introduced to some important and much needed concepts for understanding myself and my life experiences. There was only one problem--I had no idea HOW to use those ideas to make long-lasting changes in my life. It had taken a number of years to get myself in the door for Basic, so I wasted no time in signing up for the September 2005 IPI. WOW. I'm doing things now I had previously found any excuse for not doing. I'm talking to people I had previously assumed didn't want to hear what I had to offer. I've learned to deal with fears that paralyzed me. I am starting to embrace life in ways I could only dream about. I feel like a completely different person than I was prior to Basic and IPI but I now know that I am the same person. All the wonderful things I learned about myself at Basic and IPI were there all the time-I just had to be willing to look for them, dust them off, and embrace them.
